Adorable Sedona Engagement | Sara + Nick

On a gorgeous Wednesday evening, I photographed this adorable Sedona engagement session for Sara and Nick! These two flew all the way out from Chicago so they could have their engagement photos be in the same state as their proposal! I absolutely loved getting to plan out our ideas for their session, and helping Sara come up with wardrobe ideas, even though she totally nailed it on her own!! Nick’s family is from Arizona, so I even had the opportunity to meet Nick’s parents during their session! 😀

But onto Sara and Nick’s story:

“We met in college we were great friends for three years but “just friends.” 😀 We eventually started dating officially after college! He thinks we started dating months before because he just assumed I knew… 😉 ”

“I told one of my friends we were still “just friends” and he got upset and said ‘No, we’ve been dating for awhile now…’

So we went to breakfast the next day, and he asked me to be his girlfriend. It was May 30th but he said he’d remember May 31st more because that is his basketball number, so we created our anniversary for May 31st!”

One of the biggest things Sara wanted us to do for their engagement session was a toast! Unfortunately… the champagne bottle got a little too excited and popped before we could even grab photos. So, our new piece of advice is to bring more than one bottle!

Sara also has a HUGE love for all things cactus related, so we grabbed a few photos with a sign from her home!

Onto their engagement, and why they chose Arizona for their engagement session:

“This May we went to visit his family in Arizona. All of our vacations we always say we want to go on a hot air balloon so he surprised me one morning with a hot air balloon at sunrise.”

“He proposed at sunrise with the beautiful Arizona mountain view at eye level! 🙂 ”

Aren’t these two just the cutest?! I’m so glad I could be a part of their celebration by capturing their destination engagement photos! Congrats you two!!
