Carly reached out to me about having an engagement session at Ohio University shortly after seeing engagement photos I took of another couple of mine, Ashley and Cree. You can find their German Village engagement session here. After talking about Carly’s relationship with Brandon, I just knew we had to take their engagement photos at Ohio University. It just didn’t make sense to do them anywhere else! Why? Read about how they met!
Brandon and I met 12 years ago at Ohio University. We grew up in the same hometown but, our paths didn’t cross until our college days. We had mutual friends and quickly got to know each other after spending time with the same “friend group”. We’re not sure if it was love at first sight but there was definitely a spark! Brandon surprised me on our first date (Valentines Day 2008), with a home-cooked meal at his college house (with paper plates and solo cups, of course), followed by a trip to the movies to see Fools Gold. I’d like to say the rest is history!
After Brandon graduated, he moved back to Dayton while I finished two more years in school. After I graduated, I moved to Columbus. We spent the next few years “long distance” dating and taking every opportunity we could to see each other. As you can imagine, that got old quick and Brandon decided to move to Columbus with his brother. In 2016 we bought our first house together – our very own “fixer upper”, and we continue to enjoy making this house feel like “home”.

How he asked:
In 2018, we planned a trip to Denver – lots of hiking and great food – but the best of all was a special hike in Boulder, CO at Sugarloaf Mountain on October 12th. Once we got to the top, Brandon suggested we take a fun picture with the beautiful view (you know, the classic Titanic picture?). Just as I turned around, he was down on one knee asking me to “make forever official”. Without hesitation, I said yes! Actually, I think I said yes before he even popped the question! Needless to say, we spent the next few days enjoying this special moment in Denver – doing what we love the most, being outside and eating good food!
Brandon and I can’t wait for our special day, August 3, 2019, where we’ll be surrounded by our family and closet friends, making forever official and starting this next chapter of our lives together.

Are these two cute or what?! I loved getting to do a little mix of school spirit while visiting the old house they used to hang out at during their college years!
