I seriously could not have asked for a more dreamy Sedona Pre-Wedding session with this beautiful couple! I still remember the night I received their email. I knew this Singapore couple was going to be the perfect couple for me. When I met with Winston and Genevieve at the local Morning Glory Cafe, they told me they were really hoping to get some landscape photography of Sedona in Genevieve’s final Pre-Wedding dress. I couldn’t have been more thrilled! Landscape is one of my favorite things to photograph, and I was given the opportunity to photograph not only the beautiful Sedona, but a dreamy Sedona Pre-Wedding! I knew the moment that Genevieve sent me that email on facebook, with excitement gleaming through each message, that we were going to get along perfectly. She sent me all of the ideas she had in mind, as well as the gorgeous dress she had yet to wear. I couldn’t have been more honored to do this session for this fabulous couple a few months before their wedding in Singapore!
So, here’s a little back story: (Because it’s one of my favorite things to share with everyone.)
“Winston and I met at the start of 2013.” After having his knee injury, “we only got closer.” This was because he sought medical attention at the hospital (Genevieve) was working at. He” sent me a picture of himself standing outside the pharmacy I worked at.” She would accompany him to physiotherapy sessions, and ambulate him after his knee surgery. After work she would pay him visits to get him walking and gaining strength in the leg he had surgery on. “As months went by, we got closer, and there was no doubt there was attraction there.” Genevieve went on to mention that, “since then everything was history.”
So, how did he ask?! (I’m sure many of you would like to know this as well!)
“He proposed in the most romantic way ever. He secretly got his friend to pick me up for dinner, and then as I walked into the dinner location, there was a tree canopy tunnel lined with pictures of both of us from the very start to present. At the end of the tunnel, there were petals and tea light candles that led me to a swing decked with fairy lights. On the swing was an envelope addressed to me. I opened it, and read what he had wrote to me. At the end of the letter it said, ‘look up, I have something to ask you,’ and there he was with a ring and on one knee.”
Okay, seriously… as soon as I read this, all I could think about was how much I would have loved to have been there to photograph this extremely precious moment. She wasn’t kidding when she said he proposed in the most romantic way ever. I totally envisioned every single memory she shared with me, and can only imagine how much more beautiful it was in person!
Thank you Genevieve and Winston for sharing your beautiful story! Thank you, also, for allowing me to be a part of your beautiful new adventure. I know your wedding in Singapore is going to be absolutely breathtaking, and I cannot wait to see your images from the special day to come! I am so glad I was able to photograph the two of you with Genevieve in her final dress, and that the rain held off through the morning!
