Hollenberg Pony Express Outdoor Wedding | Phoenix Wedding Photographer

I just had my first paid opportunity as a wedding photographer, assisting at the Hollenberg Pony Express for an outdoor wedding ceremony in Hanover, Kansas. Not only am I getting paid as a second shooter now, but this is my third wedding! Third time is a charm right?! Well, I was pretty excited about doing this wedding because it was the very first time I was able to use my [new to me] Canon 5D! The other great thing was that the main wedding photographer had a ton of different lenses for me to use at my regard. I really enjoyed myself this time. It is seriously amazing what a difference upgrading a camera and lens can do for you! I was using the Olympus E-PL3 f/3.5 for the longest time, and while I was able to take some pretty decent pictures with it, my skills were very limited. Once I upgraded to this baby I could see such a grand difference in my photography skills! I know that my skills will only continue to improve, especially as a wedding photographer.

I also have to say how thankful I am to be in such great photography groups! The things I learn just by reading their comments is amazing… I’m definitely thankful for where I am at right now. I know it will only get better!

Edit: (Apr 22, 2016) Man have things changed!! It’s so cool getting to go through old images and adjust the editing, only to find what great photos I was able to capture even in the beginning! Since then I have not only upgrade my camera body again, but I’ve invested in a few different lenses, and even a light set!

Enjoy these beautiful images from my images from the outdoor wedding ceremony at Hollenberg Pony Express in Hanover, Kansas.
