The more I got to know Tyrion, the more I realized how much we had in common. (That random fact about me is for free. - RIP GoT)
WELCOME TO THE BLOG!
Whether you're looking for wedding advice, travel ideas, or new spots to visit, I got you covered here! Come see posts from my latest travels to the cuteness of my couples.
I met Jordyn for the first time when she was a bridesmaid for Katie and Seth’s wedding. But this time, it was Jordyn and Kelan’s turn to say I do! It was such an exciting time for me because not only did I get to celebrate this intimate Phoenix Zoo wedding, but I was able to see an old couple of mine in the process. I absolutely love when I get to meet up with previous couples of mine because I wholeheartedly believe in building such a great connection with each of my couples that we’re able to grab lunch or drinks, or spend a weekend together whenever I’m in town.
You can find their engagement photos here, but today’s post is about Jordyn and Kelan’s intimate wedding at the Phoenix Zoo!
My favorite moment was walking down the aisle. I was so overwhelmed with joy. Everything was so beautiful and my dad is NOT a crier so his tears just made me cry more! Then Kelan was crying with joy which was the sweetest thing in the entire universe. I felt like I had shut everyone else out and it was just me and him, waiting to get to the end of the aisle.
I walked down the aisle to “I Cant Help Falling In Love with You” by Hailey Reinhart. That was a tribute to my dad and paternal grandmother because they both loved Elvis so much and this song if from my dads favorite Elvis Presley movie, Blue Hawaii. It also felt like the perfect song for me to walk to Kelan because, while our romantic relationship might have seemed short to some, our friendship has lasted years and we just keep falling back in to each other.
Another fun fact, the song I walked down the aisle to was Kelan’s parents wedding song!
“My favorite moment of the wedding was being turned around to witness Jordyn walk down the aisle. All the build up to that moment lead to something more beautiful than I could have every imagined.” – Kelan
The Desert Grove ceremony area, I loved how it matched our want for outdoors and captured the beauty of Arizona.
For me, my favorite detail was the atrium area for the reception. I loved the wild feeling it gave the venue and how intimate it felt to be under the stars and the trees, away from the dance floor. It was the perfect entrance area for our guests to enjoy cocktails and I felt like it captured the feeling we were going for which was the thrill of adventure!
Our first dance was “The Search is Over” by Survivor. We chose this song as our song simply because it represents our love story so perfectly. The song tells the story of a man who was so wrapped up in his own life that he didn’t see that love was standing right in front of him in the form of his best friend.
When Kelan and I first met, there was an instant connection but I was with someone else pretty seriously, so Kelan stood on the sideline, loving me from a distance while I was too busy being wrapped up in my relationships. He would stand by my side as my best friend while I saw other people and then vice versa, I stood aside while he started seeing someone. However, we both knew (as well as everyone else) that there was something more there so one day, when we went hiking, it hit me that this was it. This was the man I wanted to marry and I didn’t want to squander that chance any longer.
Just like the song, “good luck, it finally struck, like lightning from the blue. Every highway is leading me back to you“. No matter how much time we spent apart, what paths we chose, we always came back to each other.
