Holy Cow you guys!! I swore I blogged about this Papago Park Elopement a decade ago! This was one of my favorite styled shoots for one reason, travel theme! This was the very first event Coterie AZ put together, and I was so happy to be a part of it. Not only did I get to work with Sift Bakehouse again, but I was able to see Wildflower AZ’s work in person!! I’m sure I’ve said this time and time again, but my favorite part about doing these stylized shoots during the slower summer sessions is the opportunity to see all of the fabulous vendors I stalk on instagram or facebook in real life!!
We live in such a virtual world that it can become easy to solely chat via our devices. I love that these style shoots help us to get out and keep our creativity flowing, while building a community of photographers and wedding vendors alike! The only downfall for me is posing! Since we’re generally in a group of 4, with only a short amount of time, I don’t always get a chance to get that specific pose I want, or that perfect landscape shot since I have to work around the other photographers. The plus side to that is that it requires me to move around and find a more unique shot! It’s the perfect challenge!
Papago Park is one of my favorite locations, but what area isn’t a favorite of mine in Arizona?! I took my son hiking a few times around this beautiful rock over this past Easter, and he loved it so much that he fell asleep in his hiking carrier!!
For this Papago Park elopement session, I had my little dude attend with me. He loved getting to tag along and check out all of the setups. It could have just been the fact that they were “new toys” to him, but that’s beside the point. Maybe in a few years I’ll be able to have him as a second shooter… Baby Steps! 😉
